“Mutation in AKAP Genes” – An Example Paper

Abstract

AKAPs are gallowing proteins that attach themselves to the regulatory subunit of PKA. On attachment, they target PKA to specific substrates. Similarly, AKAPs bind other forms of kinases and phosphates whereby they target them to specific residues in a multiprotein signaling complex. Discoveries have been made that there are over 20 AKAPs whereby some of them interact with ion channels. For instance, there are particular AKAPs, which interact with, the inwardly rectifying K+ channel and raise the sensitivity of the channel to Camp regulation. This study seeks to determine how the mutations in AKAP genes are associated with known cardiac diseases.

Recently, the X-ray team who consists of four people who work together for long time has received three new members. The reason for this change is that the head of department wants to increase productivity to reduce the long lists of patients. However, the older workers said that they were not comfortable with the new young employees. They claimed that their team was broken and some obvious tensions including sabotage and complaints arose. The young employees also expressed that they cannot collaborate with the old members. As the result, the performance of a whole team decreases. Continue reading
